AMRAP Workout

Side Plank Hold

A bodyweight movement used in 1 AMRAP workout in the library.

How to do Side Plank Hold

How to do it

Prop yourself on one forearm, stack your feet, and lift your hips until your body forms a straight line.

The coaching cue

"Imagine a steel cable pulling your top hip directly into the ceiling."

What changes inside an AMRAP

Squeeze the bottom glute aggressively to prevent the hips from hinging backward.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the hips settle backward so the body is no longer in one plane.
  • Stacking the supporting elbow ahead of or behind the shoulder.
